The Root of Americas Problems
Published on September 25, 2006 By Gregoreus In Politics
So, there I was, pondering the state of the world and life in general and the truth became clear. The problem with America and much of the world is Tolerance. When did the concept of Black and White/Right and Wrong go out of style?

I look at the headlines and listen to people talk about ‘the kids these days’ as they shake their heads in disgust, they are exactly like our society has taught them. We say ‘there is no God’ they say ‘I have nothing to believe in’ we accept abortion and ‘the right to choose’ they understand ‘life, mine or theirs, has no value’ we allow the courts to free murders and they believe ‘the truth is dependent on the money you spend to buy it.’ There once was a time when a student got his drawers dusted(swats) if he got out of line at school, and then got more when he got home. Now, teachers won’t even speak harshly to students to discipline them for fear of a law suit. Our need to let people express themselves was the death of discipline and the creation of ‘the grey zone’ that we now exist in. We tolerate people doing evil and wonder why bad things happen. Just ask the teacher who had sex with her student and never served any real prison time.

Let me ask you this, how many people remember 9/11? Of course. Now, how many remember the response of Saddam and the Iraqi people to those attacks the very same day? I do, and because I do, I support the war in Iraq. I will not tolerate celebration of the worst thing to ever happen to the country I love. What about Chavez? He comes to my country and calls my President (Republican or Democrat) the devil! There was a day in our history when he may not have made it out of here alive because the out rage would have been so great! Yet, we tolerated it.

Millions of people are living in this country as we speak, illegally! Every day they are here they commit a felony! They even come together and protest! WE TOLERATE IT!

The Black Panthers protest with combat shotguns and assault rifles and we say ‘That’s OK.’?

What about politicians that leak classified information and the media that choose to publish it?

We, the people hold these organizations accountable and we have failed, we tolerate the wrongness in our country by choosing every day to do nothing. What are we doing? Where is the anger? Why don’t we do something? Say something?

Someone tell me why, please!

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

>>>> He can speak like that because we as a nation believe that a person has a right to voice his opinion in a public and private forum without restriction, provided the language is not obscene or “incite-ful.”

>>> Because we are the descendents of immigrants who made the trek here, because while they are breaking the law, we also realize “they” incluse children and families and are loath to just hand them back, we also know the scope of the problem is incredibly large and requires tact and a vision of the impact on our society as we come up with an answer.

The Black Panthers protest with combat shotguns and assault rifles and we say ‘That’s OK.’?

>>> I have not seen a Black Panther protest with guns since the 60s.

What about politicians that leak classified information and the media that choose to publish it?

>>> Because a media and press that has to clear each article by a government censor is too nightmarish to contemplate.

In my opinion, calling the elected leader of the US "the devil" is obscene! Thank you for proving my point. You don't care, you tolerate.

>>> Because we are the descendents of immigrants who made the trek here, because while they are breaking the law, we also realize “they” incluse children and families and are loath to just hand them back, we also know the scope of the problem is incredibly large and requires tact and a vision of the impact on our society as we come up with an answer.

Since when did having a family or being a child make a felony anything but a felony?

Yes, incredibly large, I agree...so let's do nothing! Once again we should not punish those who break the law, we should not offend felons.

I'm sick of this rhetoric. "They" should all be sent back or be forced to recive miminume wage as a maximum wage, loose all government aid and be taxed while "they" wait in line to offically obtaine citizenship. That is fair, that is just.

I thouht I could find the photo, but I can't so I'll have to conceed you that point for now.

Because a media and press that has to clear each article by a government censor is too nightmarish to contemplate.

Who said anything about a government censor? The media should be responsible enough on their own to not run classified information. Why? Because it's wrong! Unless they found out that Bush is actually Bin Laden! Then they can go ahead. But the stuff they are printing has not helped the country at all. Hell, the New York Times is practically a Liberal Democratic Media Branch, but You don't seem too upset about that.

I care and tolerate. I have too. While I may think he is an idiot and completely wrong. He has the right to say what he feels.

But, is it illegal? And, if it is illegal, why isn't the governemtn prosecuting them?

Sure, we all have the right to say what we want. I'm not saying let's go kill the guy, I'm saying Americans have lost their sense of patriotism to the point that we let communist dictator wanna-be's come to our country, insult the president, and leave knowing we won't do a damn thing. I doubt you could get away with that in England, God forbid you talk shit on their socer team! Why are we different?

But, is it illegal? And, if it is illegal, why isn't the governemtn prosecuting them?

How can the government prosecute a free speech organization wihtout looking like Nazies? On at least one recent occasion they simple chose not to prosecute.

But I like your point, law exists to define right and wrong, not the other way around.
OJ killed his ex-wife and her boyfriend, yet the law failed and he walks free. Was he right?
We all have the right to choose and we must be responible for every choice we make.
